CLAIMS

Insurance is the best approach towards Risk Control and Management through which we advise our Clients to apply. Though we do not insure so that we can then present a Claim, it is generally expected that at one time or the other a loss of all or part thereof the insured property will occur.

This is the most critical point at which an Insured confirms whether his or her Underwriter was after all worth the effort of being entrusted with the Risk Control Management.

At CSI, we shall not let you down and will aggressively pursue all your claims arising out of the Insured Perils and ensure prompt and expeditious settlement. Any claim can be repudiated by an Underwriter/Claims Office, but with our involvement, all payable outlay will be settled to your satisfaction.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ALL CLAIMS

  1. Report the claim immediately to CSI offices
  2. Procure Claim/s sites photographs
  3. Report to the nearest police station and obtain a police abstract
  4. Completed in full and clearly, a relevant claim form, copy of which is accessible from CSI offices
  5. Where a Third Party is involved in the loss and or accident NEVER ADMIT LIABILITY

 

NON-MOTOR CLAIMS

A) FIRE & PERILS/INDUSTRIAL ALL RISKS LOSS/DAMAGE CLAIM

  1. Call for a fire brigade and an ambulance in case of personal Bodily injuries and or death and thereafter, report and loss to CSI offices immediately
  2. Report to the nearest police station and obtain a police abstract report. The same should be forwarded to CSI offices immediately
  3. Procure Loss/ Site photographs if possible and lodge the same 
  4. Visit our offices and completed a relevant claim form
  5. It is important that prior to the loss and or damage you keep and maintain an updated record of all inventory of the insured items/ property in a separate situate and in fire proof safe. Current and updated records of eg. Stock, work in progress, finished products etc, is very important at this point in time.

 

B) BURGLARY/ THEFT LOSS

  1. Report the loss to CSI offices immediately
  2. Report to the nearest police station and obtain a police abstract report. The same should be forwarded to us.
  3. Visit CSI offices and complete a relevant claim form

 

 

 

C) CASH IN TRANSIT – MONEY/THEFT LOSS 

  1. Report the loss to CSI offices immediately
  2. Report to the nearest police station and obtain a police abstract report. The same should be forwarded to us.
  3. Visit CSI offices and complete a relevant claim form

 

 

 

D) GOODS IN TRANSIT LOSS/CLAIM

  1. Report the loss to CSI offices immediately
  2. Report to the nearest police station and obtain a police abstract report. The same should be forwarded to us.
  3. Visit CSI offices and complete a relevant claim form

 

 

E) PUBLIC/PRODUCT LIABILITY LOSS/CLAIM

  1. Report the loss to CSI offices immediately
  2. Report to the nearest police station and obtain a police abstract report. The same should be forwarded to us.
  3. Visit CSI offices and complete a relevant claim form

 

 

F) PROFFESSIONAL INDEMNITY LOSS/CLAIM

  1. Report the loss to CSI offices immediately
  2. Report to the nearest police station and obtain a police abstract report. The same should be forwarded to us.
  3. Visit CSI offices and complete a relevant claim form

 

 

 

 

G) FIDELITY GUARANTEE

  1. Report to CSI offices immediately you discover the loss
  2. Ensure the Fraudulent employees(s) is suspended from employment
  3. Report to the nearest police station and obtain a police abstract
  4. Hold any dues for the employee until the loss is finalized 

 

 

H) WORK INJURY BENEFITS ACTS (WIBA)

  1. Report the loss to CSI offices immediately
  2. Report any fatal claim to the director of occupational health and safety within 24hrs and a non-fatal claim within 7 days.
  3. Complete DOSH Form Part1.
  4. DOSH Part II to be completed by the attending doctor
  5. Completed DOSH1 part I & II to be sent to the Labor Office to make their assessment by completing WIBA 4 form which should be returned to us immediately

 

I) EMPLOYERS LIABILITY (COMMON LAW) CLAIM

  1. Report immediately to CSI offices. This must be an extension of WIBA above otherwise it would jeopardize your claim advantage if the same had not been reported under WIBA

 

 

J) ALL RISKS INSURANCE LOSS/ CLAIM

  1. Report the loss to CSI offices immediately
  2. Report to the nearest police station and obtain a police abstract report. The same should be forwarded to us.
  3. Visit CSI offices and complete a relevant claim form

 

 

K) PUBLIC/PRODUCT LIABILITY INSURANCE LOSS /CLAIM

  1. Report the loss to CSI offices immediately
  2. Report to the nearest police station and obtain a police abstract report. The same should be forwarded to us.
  3. Visit CSI offices and complete a relevant claim form

 

L) POLITICAL VIOLENCE INSURANCE LOSS/CLAIM

  1. Report the loss to CSI offices immediately
  2. Report to the nearest police station and obtain a police abstract report. The same should be forwarded to us.
  3. Visit CSI offices and complete a relevant claim form

 

 

 

M) MARINE

The following documents are compulsory in case of a Marine claim;

  • Original Bill of Lading.
  • Invoice (s).
  • Packing list
  • Port Release Order 
  • Consignment Notes.
  • Correspondence exchanged with the third parties.
  • Import entry

 

MOTOR CLAIMS14

A) MOTOR ACCIDENT

  1. Take details of the location and indicate the possible cause of the accident. 
  2. Report to CSI offices immediately. 
  3. Where a third party is involved NEVER ADMIT LIABILITY.
  4. Report to the nearest police station and obtain the police abstract 
  5. Obtain repair estimate from a reputable garage and send it to CSI offices as soon as practically possible. Don't authorize REPAIRS without the consent of the insurers. 

B) MOTOR WINDSCREEN CLAIM

Replace the damaged windscreen at any V.A.T registered dealer and forward the replacement documents to CSI offices for reimbursement purposes.
